Texture is often the first thing that catches buyers’ eyes for bags. Many bag designers and sourcing professionals run into the same challenge: readily available stock fabrics come with fixed patterns, leading to frequent lookalike products. Even after you finalize a great new design, it can be hard to source matching material.
Custom woven texture bag fabric solves exactly this pain point. It delivers exclusive surface texture for your bags while maintaining reliable performance, predictable costs and consistent lead times.
How do we create custom textures at ESW?
ESW builds custom textures through precise adjustments to weaving parameters, in four core steps: We modify loom feed speed, weft density and tension to produce plain, herringbone, twill, basketweave and other weave styles. By tuning the spacing between warp and weft yarns, we alter the fabric’s stiffness or drape, suiting different bag styles including totes, diaper bags and outdoor packs.
We pair PP and PE yarns in denier ranging from 650D to 2000D. This keeps textures crisp and defined while meeting practical requirements for abrasion resistance and color fastness. We first produce small trial swatches. Mass production only starts once the texture, hand feel and shade are approved, cutting the risk of costly revisions.
ESW operates looms with a maximum working width of 320 cm. When nested for standard bag panel layouts, this wide-width weaving improves material utilisation and cuts hidden costs from offcut waste.
Important note: New texture development requires loom parameter calibration. Unit pricing for small custom runs will be higher than standard stock fabric. Highly intricate specialty textures will also require extended sampling lead time, so we recommend building extra time into your development schedule.
What value does custom fabric bring to your bag project?
· Stand out from generic competition You are not limited to mainstream stock patterns. Texture density and hand feel can be tailored to your design, creating a distinctive brand signature that performs better on online listings and retail shelves.
· Consistent batch quality, fewer reworks and complaints Standardised weaving controls ensure stable texture, thickness and colour. ESW maintains batch colour variation at ΔE ≤ 2. Approved samples can be reliably replicated on repeat orders, avoiding issues from shifting texture or shade.
· Tested for international markets, ready for cross-border sales Third-party test certificates are available on request to meet widely used North American and European benchmarks: colour fastness AATCC TM16 / AATCC TM30, water repellency AATCC 22, plus GRS recycled certification. Whether your goods face humid ocean transit or prolonged outdoor UV exposure, we can match the performance specification to reduce return rates.
· Flexible to fit your new product launch schedule Our production is not constrained by seasonal raw material availability. We support sampling, trial orders and repeat runs to sustain your new product pipeline.
Ideal use cases
· Cross-border bag brands: Consistent batch performance plus mildew-resistant properties reduce damage during sea shipment and boost listing conversion.
· Luxury contemporary designer brands: Soft, organic woven textures support a minimalist, nature-aligned brand identity.
· Technical outdoor bag manufacturers: Tuned yarn blends and weave density deliver enhanced tear strength and weather resistance for camping and outdoor applications.
